Dear Joseph & Lucia,

Well, it’s been a few years since I’ve written last.  As I mentioned a few times in previous letters, it’s been important for me to move on and live in the present. The loss of you two had a devastating impact on my life that took me years to learn to cope with.  It doesn’t mean I think any less frequently about you guys.  But, I’ve come to grips that you are both adults now and can make your own decisions about reaching out to me or not.  It’s clear neither of you want to, and I can understand that.  And I have to accept that fact.  I can only guess at the hardships you’ve gone through and won’t pretend to pass judgment on your decisions.

So, that said, I’m likely writing to either a friend or significant other to Joseph or Lucia.  You have come across this website trying to learn something more about their father.  Maybe trying to fill in some blanks or answer questions to stories that seem fantastical or unbelievable.  There are many letters below that I’ve written over the years.  Take your time to read over them.  The full story is there. You will find the answers you are looking for in them.  My contact information is still accurate and I’m more than willing to answer any questions if asked.

All that said, I’ll continue with my normal updates.  I’m still happily married to Michele.  We still live in the same house in Richardson.  I’m still working at SpaceX down in McGregor.  The work is unbelievably fulfilling.  I’m getting to participate in a company that is literally changing the world.  I’m still sober and go to my local AA group regularly.  I’m stable and serene.

Michele and I travelled to Europe over the summer again.  We got to spend time with her mother and sisters and their children.  It was really nice to be around family.  Besides Brussels, we took a day trip to Luxembourg and saw some beautiful sites along the way. We also went up to Amsterdam for several days.  I attended a conference there for LabVIEW programmers while Michele and her mum played tourist and enjoyed each other’s company.

Later this month, we’ll be heading to the RenFest near our old house in Dobbin.  That’s always a fun event.  We both have full costumes we wear.  This year, some friends of mine from Caldwell are getting married there and we were invited.  I’m really looking forward to it.

That’s really all I have for you guys right now.  My life has become routine, almost boring.  I’ll keep going to AA.  I’ll keep going to work. I’ll keep caring for my dear Michele.  And I’ll think and pray for the two of you every day.  Be kind.  And know I’ll be here… waiting for you… if you ever want to talk.

Love,
Dad
